Guide: Importing Studies & Managing Duplicates
Learn the best practices for importing your search results into RevPro and using our powerful tools to efficiently identify and resolve duplicates.
Building Your Study Library
The foundation of every review is the collection of studies identified from your searches. RevPro streamlines the process of importing these studies and cleaning up the list by removing duplicates.
Step 1: Importing Your Studies
RevPro supports common bibliographic file formats, allowing you to easily import results from databases like PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science.
- Navigate to "Studies" > "Importer Dashboard" within your project.
- Select the source for your import (e.g., PubMed Search Results).
- Upload your file (e.g., CSV, RIS, BibTeX).
- RevPro will process the file and add the new studies to your project library.
Step 2: Understanding the Deduplication Dashboard
After importing, navigate to the "Deduplication" section. The dashboard gives you an overview of your library:
- Total Studies: The total number of imported records.
- Potential Duplicates: Studies that RevPro has flagged for review.
- Unique Studies: Studies that have been confirmed as unique.
Step 3: Resolving Duplicates
Click "Manage Duplicates" to begin the resolution process. RevPro groups potential duplicates together and presents them in a side-by-side comparison view. For each group, you can:
- Select a Master Record: Choose the most complete record to keep.
- Confirm Duplicates: The other records in the group will be marked as duplicates and merged with the master record.
- Mark as Unique: If the studies are not duplicates, you can mark them all as unique. They will then proceed to the screening stage.
